A discussion was held at the Kilinochchi District Secretariat to evaluate the environmental impact and social responsibility of reopening the Paranthan Chemical Factory. The meeting was chaired by the District Secretary Mr. S. Muralidharan, and was attended by Paranthan Chemical Company Chairman Mr. S. Nesarajan, Deputy General Manager Mr. Dilshan Sahardeen, Assistant General Manager (Engineering) Mr. Ruwan Gokula, along with representatives from relevant government departments and technical experts.

The project aims to restart production of caustic soda and related chemical products, reduce imports, create jobs, and promote industrial growth in the Northern Province. Environmental protection measures and waste management systems will be strictly monitored to ensure safe operations.
